BJP’s heart doesn’t beat for farmers, Rahul tells public meeting at Mandsaur

Promises farm loan waiver if Congress comes to power in Madhya Pradesh

Mandsaur (Madhya Pradesh): Congress President Rahul Gandhi has promised farm loan waiver “within 10 days of the Congress forming its government in Madhya Pradesh”.

Addressing an impressive public meeting here on Wednesday to mark the first anniversary of the death of six farmers in this town in police firing during a farmers’ protest, Rahul Gandhi launched a blistering attack on the BJP government.

Rich looting banks

Rahul said that the current rulers of the country have no time for farmers. “The loans of farmers are not being waived but the rich have been allowed to loot the banks. The farmers are demanding justice, they are committing suicides but the government has only bullets for them”, he said.

“Narendra Modi addresses Mehul Choksi as Mehul bhai, Nirav Modi as Nirav bhai. Modi gave them Rs 30,000 crore, which could have used to waive loans of farmers of Madhya Pradesh,” he said in his address.

‘Did you get jobs?’

He hit out at the government on the issue of unemployment. “Modi promised of providing two crore jobs to the youth, promised Rs 15 lakh to each. Did any one of you got job or the money”, he asked.

Earlier, Rahul Gandhi paid tributes to the six farmers killed in police firing and met their families.

In a Tweet he said, “The report of the inquiry commission is not in even a year after the firing. The families of the martyred farmers are awaiting justice. I can understand the pain of losing one’s family members. Today, I spend some time with the victim families to share their sorrow”.

Among others, state Congress chief Kamal Nath and senior party leaders Digvijay Singh and Jyotiraditya Scindia were present at the public meeting.

In a tweet, Digvijay Singh said, “Who had ordered firing in Mandsaur? If the order was not given by the administration than it is a case of murder”.
