#MeToo: Reality show ‘Sach Ka Saamna’ to be back after a gap of seven years?

Producer-director Siddharth Basu said he considered the present time to be the right time to revive the series.

As the #MeToo movement gains momentum in India, producer-director Siddharth Basu hinted about releasing popular reality show Sach Ka Saamna’s third installment.

Siddharth said he considered the present time to be the right time to revive the series. “There hasn’t been a better time to revive #SachKaSaamna. Of course, in a thoroughly researched, responsible, sensitive & empathetic rather than sensationalist way, putting the polygraphed truth out there along with first person accounts, for people to draw their own conclusions,” he tweeted.

To this, host Rajeev Khandelwal replied, “And I was thinking the same Babu…this is the time!”

The talk between the producer and the channel has already begun, sources said.

“Few years back, the channel were keen on bringing the third installment of the reality show. However, things couldn’t materialise since the producer was busy with other commitments. And now, since Siddharth himself has tweeted about it, it has already created a buzz amongst the channel people. Whether the show will go on the floor or not; it’s too early to comment on it. But yes, this tweet is like a ray of hope for the channel,” said a source.

The first season of the show aired in 2009; whereas the second season premiered in 2011.
