Police have sent suicide note for handwriting test

Bhopal: A 50-year-old man committed suicide here after allegedly being subjected to casteist remarks. Omprakash Malaviya was found hanging in his flat on the second floor of a residential building in Koh-e-Fiza on Monday afternoon. He was a licensed moneylender.

The police have recovered a suicide note from the spot in which the deceased has mentioned that he was harassed by a couple living on the first floor of the same building. He alleged that the couple used to make casteist remarks on him. The police have sent the note for verification of handwriting and further investigations are on.

Investigation officer ASI Ramesh Mishra said that Malaviya, a resident of Tripti Homes in Vijay Nagar near Lalghati, lived with his wife Usha, son Rahul and daughter Priya.

Mishra said that on Monday afternoon Omprakash’s wife and daughter had gone to his brother Narayan Malaviya’s house at Peer Gate while Rahul had gone to Sehore. Meanwhile, Omprakash allegedly hanged self from the ceiling.
