Kangana set to start work on ‘Mental Hai Kya’ after return from Cannes

The actress is set to return to the country on May 15 and will be joining the crew on May 20.

Kangana Ranaut made her debut at Cannes Film Festival this year. Her pictures indicate that the actress is clearly having a lot of fun. Once back in the country, she is all set to resume work next week.

Although Kangana is not in India at the moment, her upcoming film ‘Mental Hai Kya’ went on floor on Saturday in Mumbai.

“The makers performed the mahurat in Mumbai and are planning to commence shoot from next week onwards. It was a pre-decided date but since Kangana was in Cannes for her brand commitment she could not take part in it. The first schedule of the film will be in London and then it will be shot in India. The actress is set to return to the country on May 15 and will be joining the crew on May 20,” a source said.

The makers of the film had released various posters of the film featuring Kangana and Rajkummar Rao couple of months ago.The film is produced by Ekta Kapoor and is directed by Prakash Kovelamundi. The movies is said to be dealing with mental illness and hallucination.

Earlier, it was reported that Kareena Kapoor Khan was offered the role but Ekta denied casting her.

Another controversry that had surrounded the film was that Salman Khan was upset with Ekta for choosing the title ‘Mental’ as he had already registered it for his movie. However, Ekta issued a statement stating that her film is not called ‘Mental’ and the title still belongs to Salman.
