New Delhi: In a rare occurrence, Rajya Sabha chairman Venkaiah Naidu on Friday expunged remarks made by Prime Minister Narendra Modi during his address in the House on Thursday.
Modi had made the remarks in his speech after NDA candidate Harivansh was elected Rajya Sabha deputy chairman.
Speaking in Hindi on Thursday, Modi had resorted to some word play on the first name initials of the Opposition’s candidate for the Rajya Sabha deputy chairman post, BK Hariprasad.
Not a first
In 2013, after a sharp exchange in Parliament between then PM Manmohan Singh and Arun Jaitley, resulted in some words used by both being deleted.
