How CISF rescued these 3 men whose SUV plunged into Teesta river

During the rescue operation, CISF personnel rescued three persons and took them to North Bengal Medical Hospital, where doctors declared one of them brought dead.

New Delhi: One person was killed and two injured when a Scorpio they were travelling in plunged into the Teesta river on Friday morning.

The incident, which took place near CISF Unit of Teesta Low Dam Project-IV, on Sikkim-Siliguri Road at Kalijhora in West Bengal, happened at 7am. The trio, who were coming from Sikkim, were going towards Siliguri.

The CISF personnel from CISF Unit Teesta Low Dam Project-IV rushed to the spot soon after the accident. The security personnel went into the river and carried the victims out on their hands and back.

The local police was informed about the incident.

Local administration and villagers appreciated the security personnel for risking their lives to carry out the rescue operation.
