New Delhi: Shahid Kapoor’s latest film Batti Gul Meter Chalu’s official trailer was launched on Friday. With the same makers as of Toilet Ek Prem Katha, the film explores the issue of power theft in a small town of Uttarakhand.
While the initial part of the trailer looks annoying and lose, it gradually picks up the tempo once Divyendu Sharma’s character commits suicide being unable to pay Rs 54 lakh, as his factory’s electricity bill.
Shahid’s character (an advocate) is struck hard at the loss of his friend and in an attempt to seek justice, the advocate files a court case. Yami Gautam’s screen time in the trailer is very less, but little flashes give one hopes of a stronger post-interval court-drama. Other than playing Shahid’s love interest, and making him realise his responsibility as a friend Shraddha Kapoor’s character does not seem to have much importance in the trailer.
